The emergency services are tonight in attendance at a serious traffic incident on the outskirts of Belfast.

The accident occurred at around 7pm on Wednesday September 3 on Budore Road, in the Dundrod area of Co Antrim, not far from Hannahstown just outside West Belfast.

The area is semi rural and reports at the time said surface water and rain showers had made the country roads more dangerous to drive. It’s believed the incident involved two vehicles with one ending up on its roof. It’s thought a number of people have been involved with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and NI Fire And Rescue Service at the scene alongside the PSNI.

A statement from the PSNI said: “Road users are advised to avoid the Budore Road, Dundrod, as police and emergency services are currently at the scene of a two vehicle road traffic collision. Diversions are in place. Please seek an alternative route where possible.”

No further details are known at this time.
