Fashion fans who are already putting together their autumn wardrobe won’t want to miss New Look’s new Ribbed Knit Collared Button Through Cardigan. Costing £32.99, it’s available in four stylish colours – khaki, grey, brown and cream – and comes in sizes six to 22.
The cardigan offers a comfy relaxed fit, draping over the shoulders. It boasts a chic collar and chunky buttons on the front, allowing it to either be worn buttoned up or open, plus it has two large pockets on each side.
Made from 55 per cent acrylic, 29 per cent polyester, and 16 per cent polyamide, it’s machine washable too. Simply pair the ‘soft and cuddly’ cardi with jeans and trainers for a comfy casual look, or wear over a cute dress with chunky boots.
Other cosy knitwear alternatives on the market include Next’s Stitchy Cable Tie Waist Cardigan which costs £52 and comes in sizes XS to 2XL. Available in khaki green and ecru, the cardigan is 91 per cent acrylic and nine per cent polyester, and is machine washable.
Another option is Boden’s Chunky Chevron Knitted Jacket, available for £149 in emerald night or camel, or £159 for the multi-coloured zig-zag pattern. It comes in sizes four to 22, however it’s worth noting that this option is dry clean only, as it’s made from 49 per cent polyamide, 42 per cent wool, and nine per cent mohair.

The New Look cardigan only has one review at the moment, but it’s a glowing five-star endorsement. The buyer wrote: “So glad I got this before it sells out, I sized up and got the 14 as I have a larger cup size. Hangs really well and does not gape open, which I hate it when that happens. Material is super soft and cuddly.”
Shoppers have also praised the service at New Look, with one review on trustpilot saying: “Really happy with the service I receive regularly in store at Llantrisant and with online ordering, great sale prices and good discounts awarded. Some good quality items that really wash well and last without fading.”
Another said: “I had a problem with a return, I corresponded with a lady called Katie via email and she was a great help and sorted everything out for me. Wonderful customer service.”
But others have been less positive, with one saying: “I love New Look’s clothing but not sure if I could order from there any more. I returned a dress 16 days ago and despite their website saying refunds take max 14 days I have not received it.
“Their customer care chat is impossible – it’s a long wait (hours) and it cuts out before you get to speak to anyone. Not sure what’s going on with New Look but I’m so disappointed as I have always really liked them.”
