Land and water search continues for missing Portadown man

A member of The Community Rescue Service said the search has taken place every day from sunlight to sunset from the time when Andrew Robinson went missing

The Upper Bann River is still being searched daily as search and rescue elements continue to try and locate Andrew Robinson, 50, after he disappeared last Saturday morning.

Land in the Portadown area, as well as the Upper Bann River are both being checked thoroughly as efforts to located Andrew continue.

Sean McCarry, the regional commander for the Community Rescue Service said: “Every effort and necessary resource is being utilised and we would urge the public who have been so supportive to allow us to continue with this operation and keep themselves safe at all times.

“We are fully committed to this Search alongside our other NISAR colleagues and our tasking authority the PSNI. We have been working alongside Police, SARDA IN, Lough Neagh Rescue and Skywatch in an effort to locate Mr Robinson and reunite him with his family and friends.

“Our teams are made up of volunteers with many years of search and rescue (SAR) experience and are highly trained to national standards in many SAR disciplines.

“We are grateful for the support of Mr Robinsons family, local politicians and local businesses who have provided outstanding support to us and the family of Mr Robinson throughout this difficult time.”
