Thousands of people are expected to take part in the march from Ormeau Park to Belfast City Hall
Tens of thousands of Christians are expected to take part in the March For Jesus in Belfast this weekend.
The event, which is being held on Saturday, August 23, will see thousands of people walk from Ormeau Park to City Hall before two hours of music and worship.
The March For Jesus is part of a global movement that has seen events take place across the world.

It is non-denominational, with Christians of all types being welcomed, along with those who do not follow any faith.
It is believed more than 10,000 people will be in attendance at the March, with organisers encouraging attendees to register ahead of time so they can understand the numbers involved.

Route
The March For Jesus will see attendees walk from Ormeau Park to City Hall, which should take roughly 45 minutes, but could be a little longer for some.
It will leave Ormeau Park and going along the Ravenhill Road to Albertbridge Road and East Bridge Street. It will then turn on to Cromac Street then Victoria Street, Chichester Street, Arthur Street, Corn Market, High Street, Castle Place, Donegal Place, Donegal Square North and City Hall.
Attendees are being asked to bring Christian-themed placards with event placards also being provided. However organisers have asked that there are no national or inflammatory flags as it is a non-political event.
People can also gather at City Hall from 2.50pm if they do not want to take part in the march.
Arrival time and parking
Attendees are being asked to arrive at Ormeau Park from 12.30pm on Saturday, with the march taking place at 2pm.
With regards to parking at the location, the March For Jesus website said there would be no general parking inside Ormeau Park, except for some with disabled permits. It said;
Ormeau Embankment
- Permit parking available for March for Jesus Staff & Disabled permits
- Email julio@allnations.ie with name and registration plate
- This does NOT reserve you a car space but ensures you can get free parking on the day.
- Print permit yourself and display on vehicle day of event
Ravenhill Road
- Limited parking available (check posted signs)
Inside Ormeau Park
- MUGA car park: Disabled parking ONLY (food trucks/toilets location)
- Ozone Centre: Strictly NO parking
Parking Restrictions
- NO parking in residential areas around park
- NO general parking inside Ormeau Park (except disabled at MUGA)
Facilities and toilets
There will be food available at Ormeau Park with six food truck attending the event.
There will also be toilets located along the route on at;
- St George’s Toilets – BT1 3LA
- Changing Places toilet – BT1 4QG
- Toilet lower level – BT1 4QB (no disabled)
- Church Lane Public Toilet – BT1 4QN
- Belfast City Council Public Toilet
- Castle Court Toilets – BT1 1FX
- Beefhole Tower – BT1 5EA
Registration
Attendees are being asked to register ahead of the March For Jesus so organisers can have an idea of the numbers expected to take part ahead of time.
Once registered attendees will be assigned a cohort area for them to assemble at in Ormeau Park. Attendees can Register on Eventbrite to receive a Cohort Area (A-H).
Those who will be coming in church buses are being asked to email julio@allnations.ie with name and registration plate for a free Ormeau Embankment parking permit (print and display).
