“Quite possibly the best steamer money can buy. Not only is it a steamer but doubles up as a travel iron. Perfect for holidays, level three steam is great, even works on denim. I’d give it 10 stars if I could.”

Amazon is slashing 45% off a device that has prompted customers to say their “ironing days are over”. The Sundu Clothes Steamer has had its cost reduced from £49.99 to £27.49 in a time-limited offer, and has been hailed as a “game changer” for tackling the mundane household task.

This dual-purpose device functions both horizontally like a traditional iron and vertically as a steamer courtesy of its rotating head, featuring one dry ironing setting and three steam options to handle all circumstances, whilst its LED screen makes it simple to identify which mode is active. Pledging to “effortlessly remove wrinkles”, it works on practically all materials including silk, cotton, denim, wool and nylon.

At 10.31 x 4.64 x 13 inches and weighing 899g, the Sundu Clothes Steamer is crafted to slot into rucksacks and luggage to keep clothes looking pristine during holidays and business journeys, whilst its 100ml water reservoir still contains sufficient capacity to eliminate creases from a full set of items. It additionally includes a carry case, measuring jug and protective gloves to simplify ironing or steaming clothing whilst travelling.

Boasting over 1,300 reviews from Amazon customers, the Sundu Steamer has achieved an average rating of 4.3 out of five stars. This matches the score of the top-selling Pure Pop Slim Steamer from established brand Tefal, which is currently available at £29.

It also beats the 3000 Series Handheld Steamer from renowned brand Philips, which is priced at £38 on Amazon and Argos, and has an average rating of 4.0 from Amazon customers. Meanwhile, the number one top-rated travel steamer according to Best Products Reviews is the Jack&Rose Travel Steamer which costs £44.99 from Amazon (currently with 36% off its full price), making the Sundu model a more budget-friendly choice thanks to its price drop, reports Chronicle Live.

One individual commended the Sundu steamer: “Works great for travel! Heats up fast, super compact, and the dual voltage made it perfect for my Europe trip. Steams and irons well for its size. A solid little gadget to keep clothes wrinkle free on the go.”

Another said: “Fantastic little steamer! Small but mighty. Heats up really quickly and took all the creases out of our holiday clothes. Can be used flat like an iron or upright.”

A third customer stated: “This is the perfect travel companion. Now, I don’t have to look like I lived in a suitcase when I was travelling. It is very light and can work well with a large amount of steam.”

And another person penned: “Quite possibly the best steamer money can buy. Not only is it a steamer but doubles up as a travel iron. Perfect for holidays, level three steam is great, even works on denim. I’d give it 10 stars if I could.”

Others praised the steam function as “easier than ironing”, even going so far as to say they “might never need an iron again”.

One customer said: “As someone who dislikes ironing, this steamer is a game-changer.”

Nevertheless, whilst 72% of Amazon customers gave the Sundu Clothes Steamer a complete five-star rating, not everyone was entirely as impressed with its performance.

One person said: “Spat water all over my clothes leaving them full of wet patches.”

And another reviewer reported: “Used this twice and thought it was amazing! But after trying to use it for the third time, the LED screen wouldn’t turn on and it wasn’t producing steam, only heated up.”
