A man has been charged after police seized a “a large quantity of cash” at a Belfast airport.

The 23-year-old man has been charged with possessing criminal property after the seizure at Belfast International Airport today, Thursday, August 7.

He is due to appear before Coleraine Magistrates’ Court on Friday, August 8.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Organised Crime Branch have charged a man to court following the seizure of a large quantity of cash at Belfast International Airport today, Thursday 7th August.

“The man, aged 23, has been charged with possessing criminal property. He is due to appear before Coleraine Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 8th August.

“As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.”
