To mark its second birthday, Eora/Newtown venue Bootleggers has announced a run of free live shows across August and September, spotlighting a wide range of emerging local acts.
The lineup includes headline sets from The Sunday Estate, Liquid Zoo, Kosher Groove, SLIM JIMZ, Jacob Turl, GRXCE, Julia Why?, and MEMORY MOTEL, supported by a rotating cast of rising artists across genres.
Located above Kelly’s on King, Bootleggers is a 200-cap room with full backline, including Fender amps and a Pearl Export Series kit. The venue recently underwent a $15,000 production upgrade, boosting its sound and lighting systems for both artists and audiences.
Now operating seven nights a week, Bootleggers has expanded its programming with late-night Friday events and Saturday club nights highlighting diverse genres, scenes, and communities.
It also joins a growing network of independently-minded live music venues in Sydney’s Inner West, alongside spots like The Lansdowne and The Trocadero Room. Together, they form an emerging circuit for grassroots touring and local performance.
