Exploding indie stars Radio Free Alice announce their third EP ‘Empty Words’ for release this month, and entice us with new single ‘Toyota Camry’ and massive tour ahead – Backseat Mafia

by wellnessfitpro

We have been closely following the rapid ascent of Radio Free Alice ever since premiering their video for ‘I (Gotta Fall In Love)’ back in 2023. This was followed by their signing  to the massive and highly prestigious WME Agency for worldwide representation after their signing locally to the illustrious Double Drummer label. It may be an unrequited love affair but this is band that has been garnering world wide attention with their delicious brand of new wave rock that matches a degree of swagger and pose with an ability to craft pulse quickening rock.

The band has released the single ‘Toyota Camry’ in anticipation of a third EP entitled ‘Empty Words’ due out on 20 August 2025 (the title track which we reviewed earlier this year). The eponymous vehicle itself is something I always associate with elderly parents and Uber drivers: a sort of cheap, safe neutral-coloured epitome of mundanity as you could ever get. You can rest assured that the single is quite the opposite. The vocal are urgent with a backing chorus and a soaring chorus above thundering guitars, driving forward at full speed. It’s an assured single that captures this band’s exponential growth.

It comes with a video directed and edited by Finn Robilliard with the band driving around in the eponymous car and performing with their usual uber cool laconic style:

‘Toyota Camry’ was produced by Peter Katis (Interpol, Bloc Party, Frightened Rabbit) in Connecticut earlier this year and is available via all the usual sites.

The release coincides with Radio Free Alice’s debut UK headline tour which kicked off last week, on which they’ve sold out six headline shows in London and further sellouts around the UK and in Ireland. They have also just this week been announced as a late lineup addition to the iconic Reading and Leeds Festival taking place late August.

North American tour dates have also been announced, including two sold out headline shows in NYC (the first selling out in 24 hours) and a slot at Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta, GA this September alongside Lucy Dacus, IDLES, Pixies and more. Full details are below..
