North Belfast incident sees man airlifted to hospital after ‘falling from height’

Firefighters used specialist rescue equipment to rescue the casualty following the incident in Ligoneil

A man was taken to hospital via air ambulance after falling from a height on Monday afternoon in North Belfast, NIFRS say.

Emergency services attended the scene in the Wolfhill Link area of Ligoniel on September 8.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 4.49pm. 2 Appliances from Springfield Fire Station and the Specialist Rescue Team from Central Fire Station attended the incident.

A statement said: “Firefighters were called to reports of man who had fallen from a height yesterday afternoon. Firefighters used specialist rescue equipment to rescue the casualty.

“The casualty was left in the care of NIAS and transported to hospital via air ambulance. Firefighters left the scene at 5.39pm.”
