Madden’s preliminary quarter-final clash with Armagh Harps will be played as a double-header with Killeavy’s meeting with Mullaghbawn at the Box-It Athletic Grounds
The fixtures have been confirmed for the Armagh SFC preliminary quarter-finals with four teams set to exit this weekend.
The Box-It Athletic Grounds will play host to a double-header on Sunday evening with league winners Killeavy taking on south Armagh rivals Mullaghbawn.
Madden, semi-finalists in each of the last two seasons, then face Armagh Harps in the final game of the weekend.
Both teams are managed by Errigal Ciaran clubmen with Pascal Canavan over the Harps while Madden are managed by Mark Harte and Adrian O’Donnell.
The trio were part of the 2002 side which won the Ulster club title when managed by Mark’s father Mickey prior to taking up his role as Tyrone senior manager.
Both management teams have also had spells in charge of their native club with Harte and O’Donnell guiding the Dunmoyle men to O’Neill Cup success in 2022 before being denied by Trillick after extra-time the following season.
The duo are in their second season with the Raparees while Canavan is in his third year with the Harps.
Steven McDonnell’s Killeavy defeated Clan na Gael in their final group game to stay in the Championship while Mullaghbawn were edged out by Cullyhanna in their rescheduled clash last weekend.
In the same group, that victory for St Patrick’s bumped Madden down to second while the Harps finished third in their group.
Carrickcruppen’s shock round two win over the Harps helped them finish second in Group D and they’ll take on 2022 finalists Granemore at Silverbridge on Saturday.
The remaining preliminary quarter-final sees St Peter’s take on Culloville at Clady on Saturday afternoon.
The winners of this weekend’s games will face Clann Éireann, Crossmaglen, Cullyhanna and Maghery in the quarter-finals next weekend.
