Primark’s new bag looks similar to a more expensive version – and there’s a huge price difference
Primark is stocking a new bag that bears a striking resemblance to a pricier alternative. Renowned for its budget-friendly fashion and homeware offerings, the high street retailer may have just unveiled a new customer favourite.
The store’s Faux Croc Shopper Bag appears remarkably similar to a design from M&S but costs significantly less. Customers can pick up the Primark alternative for just £15, whilst the M&S equivalent currently retails at £185 online.
Both bags share very similar characteristics, featuring a suede-effect finish and relaxed silhouette. Each also boasts chunky top handles.
Nevertheless, there are some distinctions between the pair. The M&S option uses genuine suede while Primark’s does not, and the neutral tan shade of the more expensive model is also lighter.
The Primark bag additionally showcases a croc-embossed pattern that’s absent from the M&S design, reports the Daily Record.
Primark markets the Faux Croc Shopper Bag as a “faux croc shopper bag with wide strap and slouchy, unstructured shape.” Available in tan and black, it carries a £15 price tag.

Primark’s Faux Croc Shopper Bag carries a £15 price tag, while the M&S Hush Suede Tote Bag is priced at £185. This means shoppers could pocket savings of approximately £170 by choosing the budget-friendly alternative.
