There are some big games being played as the provincial championships get up and running

The GAA club season continues to kick into a higher gear this weekend, with many fixtures set to be played in the first rounds of the provincial championships in both football and hurling.

After a dramatic finale to many county championships last weekend, focus shifts to the provincial clashes, with a total of five fixtures in the provincial senior championships will be played across both codes this weekend.

The road to the All-Ireland club title in the football begins on Saturday evening as Newbridge take on Dunloy in the first round of the Ulster Club football Championship.

The big ball remains the main focus on Saturday evening as the Leinster Club football championship gets started with the clash of Old Leighlin and Portarlington at 6:15pm.

Two more games are being played in the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship on Sunday as Summerhill take on Kiloe Young Emmets and Baltinglass face off with Athy, with both games throwing in at 1:30pm.

And to end the weekend, the Munster Club Senior Hurling Championship gets off and running with the tasty looking clash between Na Piarsaigh and Ballygunner.

Additionally, there are more county finals to be played across the country, and the intermediate and junior provincial championships also get underway this weekend, with games available to stream on the Clubber streaming service.
