Shark Beauty Adds Bobby Eliot and Naeemah LaFond to Ambassador List

by wellnessfitpro

Shark Beauty is expanding its talent pool with the addition of two new professionals to its global ambassador network. The news comes just two years after the hair care brand launched its ambassadorship program, naming Chris Appleton, stylist to Kim Kardashian, as its first official partner.

Bobby Eliot, one of the latest ambassadors, is a stylist for a list of Hollywood stars — Gracie Abrams, Miley Cyrus and Julia Garner included — meshing mod techniques with traditional styles. Naeemah LaFond, the Haitian-American artist and Shark Beauty‘s second ambassador pick, is also the founder and creative director of “Texture on Set,” an immersive show designed to educate and celebrate the artistry of textured hair in beauty and fashion.

According to the brand, Eliot and LaFond are inspiring the next generation of beauty, rewriting beauty standards and furthering conversations about inclusivity and diversity in the industry.

“Bringing Bobby Eliot and Naeemah LaFond into the Shark Beauty stylist collective marks a significant milestone for our brand and exemplifies our ‘For All Hair Kind’ mission,” Kleona Mack, Shark Beauty CMO, told WWD. “Their unmatched technical expertise and creative influence will help us shape the future of hair tools as we continue to develop innovative solutions that address real styling challenges, from heat damage and cluttered toolkits to the lack of effective options for textured hair, while still delivering high-performance results for hair types one and two.”

Eliot shared the same sentiment, calling attention to the significance of this partnership not just on product and experiential innovation. “I’ve already seen firsthand how the brand values both artistry and innovation. Its dedication to listening to consumer problems and ideating to push the limits to create tools that truly support professionals and consumers alike is motivating and exciting for myself and the larger industry,” he told WWD.

LaFond recognized the impact of working with a brand like Shark Beauty on awareness in the wider beauty mecca. “This partnership with Shark Beauty goes far beyond the product itself,” LaFond exclusively told WWD. “It’s rooted in representation, impact and elevating hair types that have historically been underserved. We are working together to shape this next chapter by addressing the needs of all hair types for an important step towards more inclusive beauty.”

Launched in 2021 by appliance manufacturer SharkNinja, Shark Beauty offers a range of styling tools and air dryers that aim to reduce hair damage when heat is applied. “Everything we do starts with a consumer problem — that’s the real competitive advantage of Shark Beauty — and we know consumers are thinking more about the health of their scalp,” Danielle Lessing, senior vice president of global product development at SharkNinja, previously told WWD.
