New court date set for man charged with causing the death of Bangor teen Jaidyn Rice

A man charged with causing the death of Bangor teenager Jaidyn Rice by dangerous driving has had a new court date set today.

Jamie McCartney, of Manse Close, Newtownards, was due to appear at Newtownards Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 26, where he faces three charges in connection with the 16-year-old’s death following a collision on West Circular Road, Bangor on July 8.

These charges include causing death by dangerous driving, driving without a licence and driving while uninsured.

The case was however not heard today, with it being adjourned by the prosecution until October 21.

McCartney was granted continuing bail until the next court appearance.
