Singer-songwriter Manpreet Kundi has returned with unresolved (deluxe), her first new release since 2024’s debut EP. The expanded edition features three additional recordings, led by the new track ‘closure’ — a reflective, piano-led piece that acts as the wistful final chapter of the project’s story.
Like the original release, unresolved (deluxe) carries the same emotional depth that has become central to Kundi’s songwriting, while introducing a quieter, more intimate charm. The new track, ‘closure’, captures the end of a relationship through the metaphor of a final, unspoken dance, written to bring the EP to a gentle close.
“The new song was inspired by a Friends episode, the one where Monica and Richard break up whilst slow dancing at a wedding,” Kundi explained. “Monica asks ‘so what now?’ and Richard replies with ‘I guess we just keep dancing’. I imagined how a final, unspoken dance together could serve as closure, since I was still searching for my own.”
Alongside closure, the deluxe edition also includes stripped-back versions of earlier tracks: a live recording of the title track unresolved and an acoustic take on Something. Both reinterpretations showcase the songs in their rawest and most vulnerable form, highlighting Kundi’s ability to balance intimacy with cinematic scope.
Blending elements of singer-songwriter, pop, and indie, Kundi’s music has often been described as dreamy and cinematic. Drawing from personal experiences and often composed at the piano, her songs weave acoustic foundations with lush production. With unresolved (deluxe) now out, Kundi continues to shape her identity as an artist, with more new music on the horizon.
