Northern Ireland heatwave latest as Met Office forecasts high of 25C

A bright, warm and mainly dry few days ahead

Temperatures are set to rise in Northern Ireland, with a high of 25C forecast by the Met Office.

It comes as a combination of high pressure and a southerly airflow will see temperatures rise for much of England and Wales in the first half of the week, with temperatures likely peaking towards the mid-30s in London on Tuesday according to the forecaster.

For Tuesday, August 12, the Met Office say the day will stay mostly dry in NI with only a small chance of the odd shower, becoming warm in light winds and sunny periods.

Northern Ireland is not exactly set for a heatwave, but a maximum temperature of 25C is forecast for Tuesday.

And for the outlook for Wednesday, August 13, to Friday, August 15, the Met Office added: “Bright, warm and mainly dry with the occasional shower, these perhaps scattered, heavy and thundery for a time late Wednesday into early Thursday.”
