It opens this weekend
Discount retailer B&M has announced that it will be relocating one of its Northern Ireland stores to “a much bigger and better site”.
The current Antrim shop will move to another unit on Junction One International Outlet Centre. The company says the move comes following feedback from regular shoppers that they wanted a bigger shop with more products.
The store team today confirmed that they will be moving into the former Homebase located on the same retail park as the old site. The new store will be bigger with over 22,289sqft of sales space, along with a mezzanine sales floor of 8,851sqft offering a bigger selection of bargains from grocery, toiletries and health & beauty to toys, homeware, and DIY.
The store will also boast its own 10,746sqft garden centre, selling hundreds of plant varieties garden essentials. The current Antrim bargain store shut their tills for the final time on the Saturday August 9, 2025, but customers won’t have to wait much longer to get back in to store as the new site will open its doors at 8am on Saturday August 16, 2025.
The store manager at B&M Antrim, said: “We wanted a bigger and better store for our customers, giving them even more big, branded products.”
The colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community. They chose the team from Antrim Foodbank take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store.
Antrim Foodbank believes no one should have to go hungry. That’s why they provide three days’ worth of emergency food and support to local people in crisis, working closely with local churches to support those in need. As part of the Trussell Trust network, they contribute to a nationwide effort to fight poverty and hunger. In 2023/24, over 3.1 million food parcels were distributed across the UK, including more than 1.1 million for children.
Locally, Antrim Foodbank a has supported the community since 2016. Last year alone, they received 21 tonnes of donated food and helped 2,832 people, including 1,223 children. More than just food, Antrim Foodbank offers hope and practical support powered by volunteers and the kindness of the local community.
The store manager added: “Antrim Foodbank really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
