Footage of the incident showed several men attack a young player
Police have said there have been “no arrests to date” after issuing an appeal regarding an assault at Mallusk Playing Fields at the weekend.
The incident took place at the playing fields on Saturday, November 29, following a football match between Westland Young Men and Kelvin Old Boys U21 teams.
A video of the incident has been shared widely on social media and shows a number of players, with their numbers clearly visible, attacking a young player outside of a changing room.

Another video appears to show a number of fights taking place at the football pitch itself.
On Monday, December 1, police told Belfast Live that there have not been any arrests in connection with the incident as they continue to appeal for information.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police received the report of assaults which occurred at playing fields in the Park Road area of Mallusk on Saturday afternoon, 29th November.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1381 of 29/11/25.
