Loose Women star Ruth Langsford has opened up about being open to finding love and remarriage following her split from Eamonn Holmes, crediting therapy with helping her

When Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes announced their separation after 14 years of marriage, the Loose Women star appeared to be coping remarkably well. However, months later, the ITV presenter, 65, has revealed she’s now in a position where she feels optimistic about what lies ahead and hasn’t dismissed the possibility of finding romance once more, or even remarrying.

This transformation in outlook has been attributed to professional support from a counsellor, which she sought to help her adjust to life as a single woman after spending 27 years with the same partner.

Speaking to Women and Home magazine, she opened up: “I definitely see light in the future where I didn’t before. Before, I saw darkness and was thinking, ‘Oh my God, what’s going to happen?’ but now the fear [has] gone, because what do you do? Do you crumble? Do you lay down and die? Oh no, not I. I will survive.”

During the festive-themed photoshoot, Ruth looked sophisticated in a series of glamorous evening gowns, radiating her newly-discovered sense of freedom.

Addressing whether she’d consider another relationship, she continued: “Never say never. I haven’t been put off having a relationship. I haven’t even been put off marriage, but I’m definitely not actively looking, and part of that is because I’ve realised I’m actually quite good on my own. I am independent and quite strong.”, reports the Mirror.

Ruth Langsford confessed that it took her some time to reach a point of self-realisation. Despite uncertainty about her future, she expressed feeling “excited.”

Ruth and Eamonn were together for 27 years, married from 2010 until their split last year.

They share a 23 year old son named Jack, while the GB News presenter has three other children from a previous marriage.

Following their separation, it was revealed that Eamonn had begun a new relationship with Katie Alexander, a relationship counsellor who is 22 years his junior. Eamonn was seen in public with Katie, and they have enjoyed various trips abroad together.

However, there is no suggestion of an overlap.

Discussing her therapy, Ruth mentioned that she continues to find it very “useful.”

According to the TV star, her therapist has helped her to “unravel” the years of her relationship and marriage. Shortly after the split, Eamonn moved out of the couple’s £2.5million marital home in Weybridge.

Despite significant job cuts at ITV impacting shows including Lorraine, Ruth has managed to retain her slot on Loose Women. As part of the broadcaster’s shake-up, the beloved daytime TV show will now air for 30 weeks instead of 52.

Whilst it seems the current panel will stay intact, Ruth and her fellow panellists are in a state of anticipation, waiting for their names to be announced. Luckily for Ruth, she has other television projects lined up.
