As we come into the last week of August, the weather forecast is not quite ready to say goodbye to the summer just yet.

According to the Met Office, we will be treated to some more good weather this Bank Holiday Monday in most parts of the country.

The forecaster is predicting that some scattered spells could come in across the east into Monday evening but temperatures are still set to reach in the early 20s.

In Belfast, the sun will continue to make an appearance alongside light showers into the rest of the week.

This is what the Met Office has forecast for Northern Ireland:

Monday, August 25:

Dry and warm with sunny spells for much of Monday, but occasionally heavy rain crossing east through the late afternoon and evening. Fresh southerly winds. Maximum temperature 24 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Bright with sunny spells and scattered showers on Tuesday to Thursday, the showers possibly merging to longer spells of rain at times. Occasionally windy.
