The super bantamweights will go head-to-head at Windsor Park on 13 September
Ruadhan Farrell and Matty Boreland came face to face in the middle of a football pitch on Saturday, building anticipation for their upcoming Irish title showdown next month.
The super bantamweights will go head-to-head at Windsor Park on 13 September, featuring on the undercard of the highly anticipated rematch between Lewis Crocker and Paddy Donovan.
Before then, they seized the spotlight at Solitude, squaring off in the centre circle ahead of Cliftonville’s Irish League clash with Coleraine.
Farrell, 25, has a professional record of seven victories, one draw and one defeat.
The Belfast man last fought in March when beating Gerard Hughes on points on the undercard of Crocker and Donovan’s first fight.
Boreland takes on an unbeaten professional record into the fight. The 26-year-old has won all five of his pro fights, with one coming inside the distance.
‘Bam Bam’ last fought in April when beating Fernando Joaquin Valdez on points.
If Saturday’s Irish League match is any indication, the fight will be a tight encounter, with Cliftonville and Coleraine playing out a 0-0 draw at Solitude in Belfast.
