A man was left shocked by the amount of legroom on offer as he prepared to take off on Ryanair’s longest flight.

In one of latest videos, YouTube travel vlogger Scott Manson, who runs the channel Planes, Trains, Everything, arrived at the Warsaw Modlin airport to embark on Ryanair’s longest flight that would see him travel from the Polish capital to Tenerife in the Canary Islands. The flight takes around six hours from start to finish.

After boarding the plane, he was instantly disappointed to see that he was offered the same amount of legroom he would receive on a 15-minute flight.

He explained that he usually finds it difficult to relax and gets discomfort in his back on most flights longer than three hours, but he admitted that he was going to find this journey extra gruelling after criticising the stiffness of the seat as well as the inability to recline.

However, he said that he had come prepared: “But, I’ve come with a secret weapon, I’ve got one of these neck pillows, and if I don’t use it around my neck, I’ll be using it on my back.”

Despite being able to find a remedy for any possible back pain caused by the long flight, he was not able to mitigate against the amount of legroom on offer.

The YouTuber added: “Keeping in mind that this is the same sort of aircraft that operates between Glasgow and Dublin and it’s a 15 minute flight, (this one’s) six times longer then that, do we get any extra leg room? Nah.”

The low-cost airline do not currently have any other models in their fleet that offer more leg room.

Ryanair, who currently own a fleet of 500 airplanes, serves over 230 destinations across 40 countries with their shortest flight being Malaga, Spain to Tetouan, Morocco.

Meanwhile, their longest journey sees passengers take the five hour thirty Warsaw to Tenerife trip which covers 2,542 miles.

Despite Scott’s disappointment about the lack of space for his legs, Ryanair do have some spaces on board their flights with additional legroom.

Rows one to five and 16 and 17 usually come with more legroom as well as other perks including priority boarding and faster disembarkation. While prices can vary for the extra legroom seats, they typically range from £11 to £33.
