A man has died after a late night house fire in Co Derry. Emergency services were called to a residential property in the Maple Drive area of Coleraine at around 11.20pm on Wednesday, July 30 after reports of a house fire.
Police confirmed that a man in his 50s was taken to hospital where he sadly died as a result of his injuries.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police can confirm that a man aged in his 50s has died following a fire at a residential property in the Maple Drive area of Coleraine on Wednesday 30th July.

“Police were notified of the fire shortly after 11:20pm, and attended alongside colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.
“Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service extinguished the fire. The man was taken to hospital, but sadly died as a result of his injuries Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said they received a 999 call at 11.20pm. A spokesperson added: “NIAS dispatched 2 Emergency Ambulances to the scene. Following assessment and initial treatment at scene, one patient has been taken to the Causeway Hospital by Ambulance.”
