An Post has launched a special collection of stamps marking 25 years of Westlife.
The Irish pop sensation, featuring Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan and Mark Feehily, are marking their silver anniversary of performing this year with two concerts at London’s Royal Albert Hall next month.
The exclusive stamp series goes on sale today and includes a booklet containing four National Rate “N” stamps, with each one honouring an individual band member complete with their personal signature.
Additionally, there’s a €3.00 commemorative “band” stamp sheet, enhanced with luxury gold foil detailing for added sparkle, alongside a First Day Cover envelope showcasing exclusive Westlife imagery and a special commemorative ‘Sligo’ postmark, according to RTE.
Westlife said: “To have this recognition means the world to us. It is such an honour and privilege to be featured on Irish stamps and it is a very special way to commemorate our 25 years of Westlife touring together,” reports RSVP Live.
“We are so grateful to the fans who’ve supported us right from the very beginning and also a special mention and thank you to An Post too. See you on the envelopes! Love Kian, Mark, Nicky and Shane.”
“An Post is proud to celebrate Westlife’s incredible journey with this special collection,” said Aileen Mooney, Irish Stamps Manager, An Post.
“These stamps are more than postage – they are a celebration of Irish culture, a keepsake for fans, and a lasting tribute to 25 years of Westlife.”
Supporters are urged to move quickly, as stocks are limited and won’t last long. The Westlife 25 Stamps can be purchased from anpost.com/westlife, with booklets also stocked in post offices across the country.
Earlier this year, the group announced fresh material and “special shows” to mark their debut tour which began on 9th February 2001 at Newcastle Arena.
Regrettably, Mark Feehily won’t be participating in the festivities as he remains concentrated on his wellbeing following various health concerns and struggles.
In a statement at the time, they said: “Sadly, Mark will be unable to join the celebrations. We hope he can join us back on stage when he is ready and able. He sends his love and positivity to you all as always.
“The four of us can’t quite believe it’s been 25 years. We could only have dreamt of the continued love and loyalty you have consistently shown us around the world. We are so lucky to have all of you with us and we can’t wait to celebrate together! Happy 25th To Us All!”.
