A woman walking alone in South Belfast was shouted at and followed back to her house by a man over the weekend.
At around 10pm on Saturday, September 6, police were told a woman walking alone on University Avenue in the Holylands was “shouted at by a man and then followed back to her house.”
When she entered the house, “the man came to the front door and started banging on it, but did not gain entry.” The PSNI said the man was described as being around 5ft 8ins tall with long dark coloured hair.

PSNI Neighbourhood Inspector Róisín Brown said: “This was a very frightening experience for this woman, one which no one should have to endure. The Holylands is a busy area.
“As Universities begin their autumn semesters local police will be visible in student areas as part of our Student Safety operation, to reassure students and residents and to maintain safe spaces for the local community. This is an essential part of our ongoing commitment to Tackling Violence against Women and Girls.
