Emmerdale fans are convinced that they’ve already seen John Sugden’s mum on screen
Emmerdale fans believe that John Sugden’s mum is not dead yet in a twisted DNA twist.
John (Oliver Farnworth) first appeared in the Dales last year, wreaking havoc among residents ever since.
Most notably, he was responsible for Nate Robinson’s (Jurell Carter) death following the barn fire, before pinning the blame on Owen Michaels (Simon Haines).
However, that wasn’t the extent of his wrongdoing, as he also framed Ella Forster (Paula Lane) for spiking Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), got Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) perilously intoxicated, and triggered a severe allergic reaction in Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant).
Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) became John’s most recent target after getting shot in the chest, before being imprisoned in an underground bunker, reports the Daily Star.

John and his spouse, Aaron (Danny Miller), subsequently escaped the village to shelter in an isolated cottage.
When Aaron enquired whether John could contact the property’s owner about a potential purchase, the villain reluctantly agreed.
Nevertheless, Aaron quickly discovered that John had fabricated speaking to the landlord when their neighbour Marge (Pauline Daniels) paid them a visit.
“It’s lovely to see the place being occupied again… Are you buying the place?” she asked Aaron.
Aaron responded: “No, my husband’s spoken to the owner about it but we’re just renting it for now,” with Marge adding: “The owner? Are you sure about that?”
She continued: “She died over a year ago. Granted, I didn’t go to the funeral but I know people who did… Anyway, welcome to the neighbourhood, it’s been lovely meeting you.”
When later confronted by Aaron, John admitted that he did indeed own the cottage. However, he had kept this from his husband as the property held too many memories of his mother’s passing.
Now, several Emmerdale fans are speculating that John’s mum might not actually be dead, with many suggesting that Marge could secretly be his real parent.
“There has to be a reason for introducing Marge as a random neighbour. Maybe she’s John’s real mum?” one person speculated on Reddit.
Another chimed in: “Ooo love this theory,” while a third commented: “I’d love it if Marge turned out to be John’s mum, the very much still alive owner of the cottage.”
Meanwhile, a fourth viewer shared: “Loved Marge and would for her to come back. Imagine if she did and she didn’t recognise John at all because he’s an imposter!”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 7.30pm and is available to stream from 7am on ITVX
