Do you have a child who’s unwell and are wondering if they should be in nursery or school?
Schools across Northern Ireland are back from this week and that means so are the bugs.
With this is in mind, the Public Health Agency has published helpful advice for parents and guardians on when children should stay off school and nursery, and when they can return.
Symptoms and severity of illness will vary from person to person. If your child is unwell and you have concerns about their symptoms you should speak to your GP.

Do I need to keep my child off school?
At least 5 days from onset of rash and until all spots have crusted over
No need to stay off but school or nursery should be informed
48 hours from last episode

Until lesions are crusted and healed or 48 hours after commencing antibiotics
