Although few details have been announced about the new food spot, a post on Instagram shows that work is getting underway at the former Squid Shack unit on the Upper Newtownards Road.
In a post, Michael Deane said: “National Burger Day tomorrow so today is a good day to let you know about a new venture and concept!
“Myself and Karl Wilkinson will open FLINK in Ballyhackamore on the east side.
“A fun smash burger concept serving the best of Irish beef, Deanes own wines, soft serve ice cream, great tunes and so much more”.
It is the second venture to announce it is opening in Ballyhackamore this month after new owners were found for Flink’s neighbour – the former Il Pirata restaurant.
The owners of another East Belfast hotspot, Neill’s Hill, are taking over the newly vacant space to open a sister restaurant.
