Former Emmerdale star Paula Lane shared some exciting news with her Instagram followers on Friday
Former Emmerdale star Paula Lane dropped a baby bombshell in an emotional update on Friday (August 8).
The 39-year-old actor, who famously played Ella Forster on Emmerdale and Kylie Platt on Coronation Street, took to Instagram to announce that she is pregnant with her third child.
Paula and her husband, Tom Shaw, are already parents to ten-year-old Arthur and nine-year-old Penny.
Posting a picture of an ultrasound, alongside “best big brother” and “best big sister” cards to her children, Paula wrote: “Some special news to share from us @sirtomshaw.”
“Christmas just got a bit more magical. Our baby boy due December 2025,” she added, alongside a blue heart and rainbow emoji.

Fans quickly took to the comments section to share their congratulations, alongside several of Paula’s Emmerdale co-stars and friends.
Lisa Riley, who plays Mandy Dingle on the ITV soap, wrote: “CONGRATULATIONS. HOORAY!!! Now I can tell everyone. So much love to you, Tom and the children. Can’t wait for Christmas cuddles.”
Aaron Dingle star Danny Miller added: “Congratulations guys,” while Vanessa Woodfield actor Michelle Hardwick said: “Best news! Massive congratulations to you all! So exciting.”
Paula’s former Corrie colleagues also shared their well wishes, with Maria Connor star Samia Longchambon writing: “Ah congratulations to you all Paula!”
Lucy Fallon and Georgia May Foote, who are known for their roles as Bethany Platt and Katy Armstrong, similarly said: “Congratulations.”
Former Hollyoaks star Sophie Austin, who played Lindsey Butterfield, also added: “Can I shout about this now and I promise I won’t keep crying.”
Eight years after Kylie Platt was tragically killed off on Corrie, Paula arrived in the Dales as child killer Ella Forster. Sadly, Ella met a similarly dark fate as she was arrested for spiking Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) back in April.
However, it later emerged that she had been framed by villain John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 7.30pm and is available to stream from 7am on ITVX
