Emmerdale have confirmed another family fallout but there could be dire consequences for one villager
Following his release from prison, Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) has only been back in the village for a short time, but his feud with his half-brother has John (Oliver Farnworth) erupted.
During Wednesday’s episode of Emmerdale, John planted a listening device to spy on Robert, who has become increasingly suspicious of John persistently being dubbed a hero among villagers. John was shocked to hear Robert admit that he sold off Ross Barton’s (Michael Parr) and Mackenzie Boyd’s (Lawrence Robb) cannabis supply to drug dealer Ray (Joe Absolom).
On Thursday (July 31), killer John wanted to get revenge on Robert and shut down his suspicions, especially as he has been trying to conceal Nate’s death, and so he told Ross the truth about his cannabis farm being robbed.

John knew the news would infuriate Ross and Mack, who were relying on the cash to help Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) out of her financial difficulties, and save Butlers Farm.
In The Woolpack, Robert sarcastically pointed out that John always happens to be in the right place at the right time when a disaster strikes and has saved many lives of the locals.
A short while later, Ross burst through the pub’s doors as John and his husband Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), Robert’s ex, stood nearby.
Robert is exposed for not only stealing the drugs, but for using the cash from them to buy Annie’s land back from Moira.
The situation worsens when Moira learns that Ray sent in the lads who frightened Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn) on the farm, all because the villain failed to believe Robert when he insisted there was no more drugs in the barn.
Despite Robert knowing nothing about Ray’s intentions, Moira, Mack, Ross and Aaron were furious.
With John continuing to play Mr Nice Guy, Robert issued a parting warning that the locals will soon see his sibling’s true colours.
In return, John publicly declared that his brother needed mental health support following his time in prison.
Now public enemy number one, Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) advised Robert to leave the Dales, but he’s hellbent on proving that something in not quite right about their brother John.
Later, John couldn’t resist goading Robert in the village and throwing him to the floor. Robert jumped up and lashed out with a wrench, knocking John down.
A violent incident ensues, with the fate of both characters left on the line in very different ways.
The question remains, will John survive the attack? And will Robert come to regret his actions as another spell in prison potentially looms?
