Television presenter Eamonn Holmes has disclosed that he successfully lost three stone (19kg) simply by adding juicing to his eating plan.

The broadcaster, who celebrates his 66th birthday today, made the revelation in 2021 when he and his former wife Ruth Langsford shared their weight-loss experiences with The Mirror.

During the interview, Eamonn explained that just nine months after setting a New Year’s resolution to shed some weight, he became “hooked” on juicing and lost 10lbs (4.5kg) as a result, according to Surrey Live.

He added that even in 2021, juicing remained a key part of his daily routine, observing: “If I have lunch, I will have a juice for dinner.”

However, this would not be the last time Eamonn would speak openly about his wellbeing. In 2024, following his separation from Ruth after 14 years of marriage, the former This Morning host faced a series of health challenges that at times required him to rely on a wheelchair.

In a poignant clip shared on his Instagram account, he revealed that he had no choice but to find a new home for his rescue dog, Bella, as he could no longer manage his own care.

“Think about giving Bella a home. If I could walk and look after myself, she would be mine, but instead, you could be me,” pleaded the GB News host.

Hello! magazine reported that Eamonn has endured a difficult period health-wise since around 2022, undergoing multiple operations during this time, including a procedure on his lower back. His medical journey also included a double hip replacement and treatment for shingles, a slipped disc, and spinal surgery.

Looking back on his decision to undergo double hip replacement surgery, Eamonn told The Telegraph: “Waiting was the worst decision I ever made. After having both of mine replaced seven years ago, aged 55, I haven’t had a single regret: in fact, it’s been life-changing.”

Eamonn is not the only one turning to juicing as a weight-loss method. The approach has gained popularity among some social media personalities. TikTok creator @myhealthandbeautyrecipes, for example, promotes a specific juice blend claimed to help shed pounds.

In their clip, the influencer highlights a mixture of three carrots and two oranges, stating: “Drink a glass of this secret military beverage every morning for a week, and you’ll see the fat from your belly disappear rapidly.”

They instruct followers to peel three carrots and cut them into small slices, noting that carrots are among the most commonly used vegetables in weight-loss diets. They also suggest peeling two oranges and cutting them into pieces, explaining that oranges “melt fat deposits around the abdomen and hips, and facilitate digestion.”

Additionally, the TikToker recommends adding ginger, which they claim can stimulate metabolism by up to 20%, enhance fat burning, reduce hunger, and support digestion.
