I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! hosts Ant and Dec have broken their silence on the news that Lorraine Kelly’s ITV show is being axed after 36 years on air
I’m A Celebrity presenters Ant and Dec voiced their backing for Lorraine Kelly during Tuesday’s programme amid recent speculation that the long-standing ITV show might face the axe.
The beloved jungle reality series made its return on November 16, offering audiences another nail-biting series of challenges in the Australian wilderness. A standout moment from the episode saw rapper Aitch tackling a demanding Bushtucker trial, keeping viewers glued to their screens.
The Geordie pair seized the opportunity during the latest instalment to demonstrate their clear support for the ITV presenter.
Discussing Aitch’s most recent Bushtucker trial, Ant remarked: “Just to remind you, this was a secret underground bunker designed to safeguard the future of the Bushtucker trial so that in the event of a catastrophe such as the apocalypse, I’m A Celebrity would remain on air.”
Dec continued: “Yeah, we’re as relieved as you are, guys. And you might not know this, but if there is an actual apocalypse, only two ITV shows would continue broadcasting, I’m A Celebrity and Lorraine, you can’t mess with Lorraine.”, reports the Mirror.

Ant responded: “He’s right.” Broadcaster Lorraine Kelly has been captivating audiences nationwide for over 15 years with her ITV daytime programme.
The 65 year old’s broadcasting journey has extended across decades, entertaining the public with compelling interviews and her down-to-earth approach. However, it emerged in May that Good Morning Britain would be taking over her 9am-10am time slot for 22 weeks annually.
The programme’s duration has also been affected by the sweeping restructure, with broadcasts now reduced to just half an hour.
Discussing the alterations during an appearance on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, she admitted: “I was disappointed, of course I was. This is the world that we live in now. Things have to change, I mean, I’ve been through so many regime changes in my life.”
From January 2026, Lorraine Kelly’s ITV morning programme will be slashed from 60 minutes to 30 minutes as more than 220 roles across the channel’s daytime schedule face the axe, the broadcaster confirmed in May.
Production teams working on ITV daytime programming were informed during a May meeting that 220 staff members from a total of 440 would be made redundant.
Regarding other daytime programmes, as the Mirror previously disclosed, Loose Women will face reductions requiring fewer panellists than the existing roster of 26.
One source claimed 8-10 could depart in the New Year, suggesting the coming six months might witness panellists making more provocative and daring remarks than usual to secure their positions on the programme. ITV has maintained there will be no wholesale cuts amongst panellists.
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! airs at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX and Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV1 at 9am
