The hotel, which is now known as DoubleTree by Hilton Belfast City Ten Square, is in the Grade B1 listed Yorkshire House, originally constructed in 1862 and designed by renowned architect Charles Lanyon.
The 131-room hotel, featuring Jospers Steakhouse, The Doffer Bar, The Loft roof top lounge and Linenhall function suite, will remain under the ownership and management of Loughview Leisure Group.
Stephen Carson, Group Operations Director, Loughview Leisure Group, said: “We are delighted to announce this next chapter in our journey, marking a decade since we first acquired and developed the hotel.
“Partnering with the globally recognised DoubleTree by Hilton brand enhances our offering and elevates the guest experience, bringing a fresh, world-class hospitality option to the heart of Belfast.”
DoubleTree by Hilton is a fast-growing, global portfolio of more than 700 hotels across 61 countries and territories.
Hilton has already lent its name to the DoubleTree by Hilton venue in Templepatrick, also part of Loughveiw Leisure Group. It received a multi-million pound renovation of all guestrooms, spa facilities, public areas, and the 220-acre parkland golf course.
A new DoubleTree by Hilton hotel is expected to open in the Queen’s Quay area of Derry in December 2026.
It comes as the hotel chain is set to bring the first of its new brand of hotels in Europe to Belfast city centre next year.
Tempo by Hiton Belfast City Centre has been signed as part of a franchise agreement with Loughview Leisure Group. It marks the brand’s international debut, following its successful launch in the United States.
The new hotel will revive a vacant office building in the heart of the city, situated adjacent to the Cathedral Quarter and a stone’s throw from Belfast City Hall. It is expected to open by the end of 2026.
