The wintery weather is coming
After Storm Claudia brough heavy rain across the UK this weekend, the weather forecast for the start of the week suggests that winter is truly coming.
According to the Met Office, Monday could bring some dry and crisp weather as temperatures could drop below freezing in parts of the country.
The forecaster has said that we could see wet and windy weather as we move into the later half of the week.

For across the UK, Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist Dan Holley, said: “As Storm Claudia retreats to the south, high pressure to the northwest will drive a cold northerly flow from the Arctic across the UK.
“This will bring much colder conditions than of late and, whilst generally drier than recent days, there will also be a risk of wintry hazards, such as snow and ice.
“There will be widespread frosts across the UK, with temperatures dipping as low as -7°C in places next week, and daytime temperatures staying in single figures across the country.”
This is what the Met Office has forecast for Northern Ireland:
Monday, November 17:
Dry throughout the day. Cloudiest in the northwest with more by the way of bright or sunny spells in the east. Light winds. Clouding over through the evening. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
Wet and windy on Tuesday. Cold with strong winds and scattered wintry showers on Wednesday. Cold, showery and windy start to Thursday but becoming drier, milder and less windy later.
