I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! fans were left fuming just minutes into the new series as they spotted a huge change to the ITV show after 17 years

I’m A Celebrity has introduced a significant alteration to the show for the first time in 17 years, leaving fans disgruntled.

The popular ITV programme launched its latest series on Sunday evening (16 November). Geordie favourites Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly returned to host, keeping tabs on the newest group of celebrities braving the Australian wilderness.

This year’s line-up includes comedian Ruby Wax, rapper Aitch, presenter Alex Scott and content creator Angryginge, all prepared to endure the rough conditions for several weeks.

Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley, singer Martin Kemp, Loose Women’s Kelly Brook and EastEnders’ Shona McGarty have also joined the cast, each hoping to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle, reports the Express.

However, viewers were left fuming just minutes into the new series when they noticed a major change – the show had altered its opening credits for the first time since 2008.

Fans were far from pleased with the new I’m A Celebrity introduction. One irate viewer on X exclaimed: “WHY HAVE THEY CHANGED THE INTRO! ?” Another demanded: “Change the GODDAMN TITLES BACK.”

A third wrote: “I don’t like change, what’s with the new intro.” Echoing these sentiments, another viewer commented: “The new intro credits are a big downgrade! Dont fix it if it aint broke?” A fifth asked: “Why change the intro.”

Another declared: “Editors, sort out this dross and bring the classic titles back for tomorrow or there will be an issue.”

The 2025 series of I’m a Celebrity is set to deviate from previous years. This time around, contestants won’t be allowed to undertake more than two consecutive Bushtucker trials.

This change will allow a wider range of celebrities to tackle the trials. In the last series, Dean McCullough was chosen for seven Bushtucker Trials, prematurely ending two of them. Ant voiced his annoyance at the time, as Dean was continually selected for trial. The TV host remarked: “Who’s still voting for Dean, I don’t get it.”

This year, viewers will be barred from voting for the same person for a third day in a row, but then the system will be “reset”, enabling that individual to be voted for once more.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! airs everyday at 9pm on ITV1.
