Two unroadworthy vehicles were seized by police in Mid-Ulster this weekend in an incident involving a driver who had only passed their driving test the day before.
Several offences were discovered at the scene and police said at least one person will “inevitably lose their licence” as a result.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Not only did the drivers put themselves at serious risk, but they also put every other road user and pedestrian in danger by using these vehicles on our roads.

“A passenger was being carried in one of the vehicles, despite no passenger seats or seatbelt mechanism existing; offering absolutely no protection whatsoever should the vehicle be involved in a collision.
“Furthermore, the driver of that vehicle had only passed their driving test the day before.
“Both vehicles have been seized by police and court dates await for a number of offences including using a vehicle in dangerous condition, no insurance, no R plates displayed, no vehicle registration mark displayed, no seatbelt in use and defective tyres.
“At least one person will inevitably lose their licence as a result.”
