Angry Ginge is set to star in the new series of I’m A Celebrity but a close pal has revealed the real reason why he signed up

The real motivation behind Angry Ginger’s decision to join I’m A Celebrity has emerged, with a close mate revealing he’s hoping to find romance on the show.

The 23 year old Twitch streamer has established himself as a Gen Z sensation, amassing over five million followers across his various social media platforms.

The internet personality, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, is preparing to enter the ITV reality programme alongside several well-known personalities, including UK rapper friend Aitch and Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley.

ITV executives are anticipating that the YouTuber will attract substantial viewing figures, and even before the series launch, Ginge has already been tipped as the early frontrunner to win the crown by bookmakers.

Before his first appearance on Sunday (November 16) evening, one of Angry Ginge’s close friends has disclosed the true motivation for his participation in the reality programme, reports the Express.

A supporter posted a clip to TikTok from fellow YouTube and Twitch personalities Tays and Scousemali’s video, where the duo could be heard talking about Angry Ginge’s forthcoming television debut.

Whilst seated before a computer monitor, Tays revealed: “Ginge told me before he went on there, that he’s going on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here to find a girlfriend.”

He added: “That is the reason he said he is going on I’m A Celebrity. He said that he is going there to find a girlfriend.”

Scocuemali chimed in and added: “He’s going on there to find love. I mean I never got told this, Tays MCR got told this information then Scouse Somali got told second this information. Scouse Somali from Liverpool.”

This follows Angry Ginge recently suggesting he may have already broken a major I’m A Celebrity rule before the series even begins.

The YouTube star jokingly claimed he’s already spoken to three of his fellow 2025 campmates ahead of filming.

Contestants are strictly prohibited from revealing their co-stars’ identities before ITV makes the official announcement – or making contact with them in advance.

Nevertheless, he playfully hinted he’d been on the phone to Kelly Brook and Lisa Riley. Speaking at Brisbane Airport before departing for the programme, he told The Sun: “I’m very excited – I’ve never been here before so it should be fun.

“You won’t actually believe why I’m here… I got a random phone call last night from Kelly Brook, saying she’s ‘coming to visit her auntie Sheila, do I want to join her?’.

“So I said, ‘I might as well’. Then Lisa Riley rings me and says she’s doing Dingles Down Under, do I want to join her? I said I might as well.

“Then Aitch said he’s going on tour, so I said I’ll join him as well. And then Aitch’s mum rings me and says, ‘I’ve got two weeks in Australia, I’ve just won off Postcode Lottery, do I want to join her? I said I might as well!”. I’m A
