‘Messy Mind’ has a muscular backbeat with Dry’s cool laconic vocals driving over the top, sparkling guitars splashing in and out and chanting back up singers adding to the sparkle. A chorus as expansive as the skies over the southern isle sends the track into the stratosphere: it’s a pop masterpiece that reverberates around the skull and sends shivers down the spine with a delicious thrum. I wanted the clip to feel like a dream unraveling — soft and beautiful, but a bit suffocating too. The red ribbons became a symbol of that push and pull — connection, chaos, and the part of you that still wants to stay tangled up…
