Hotel unveils new £2.5m refurbishment plans showcasing conceptual illustrations

A Northern Ireland hotel has announced a £2.5m refurbishment plan that is expected to be completed next year

Da Vinci’s Hotel in Derry has announced a new £2.5million refurbishment which they plan to have completed by August, 2026.

The announcement was made on the establishment’s social media accounts, on Tuesday and showcased several concept illustrations of what the hotel will look like after the project is finished.

According to the hotel’s LinkedIn page, the site currently offers 65 spacious bedrooms and an award-winning traditional Irish main bar. The hotel also features its own restaurant, conference spaces and is rated as a four-star premises.

A social media post announcing the project said: “We are excited to announce that we have started our £2.5m refurbishment plan to improve our services and guest experience — which we plan to have completed by Autumn 2026 — bringing the gem that is Da Vinci’s Hotel back to life with a few little extras.

“Our new bedrooms are well under-way and will be completed by Spring 2026. These improvements demonstrate our commitment to providing all our guests with the highest standard of comfort and we can not wait to unveil our new look and new additions coming 2026 to Da Vincis Hotel.

“In the meantime it is business as usual and we thank you for your patience during the next few months of work.”

Da Vinci’s first opened their doors in 1986, and since then, Da Vinci’s Bar has been a cornerstone of the city’s social scene. As per the hotel’s website, the venue was once part of the famed ‘Famous Five’ which was a collection of premises that were all named after celebrated painters.
