Physique 57 is popping up at the Waldorf Astoria.
The boutique fitness studio, known for its signature barre classes, will host a residency at the recently reopened hotel in New York City through the end of February. To start, classes will be held Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7 a.m., with additional dates and times to possibly be added. Classes at the Physique 57 pop-up will be available to hotel guests, Waldorf Astoria residents and New Yorkers. Guests can also request private sessions with Physique 57 instructors. With the residency, guests will also be able to experience amenities at the Guerlain Wellness Spa, which also recently opened following the hotel’s yearslong construction project.

“The Waldorf, growing up, was just the place,” said Physique 57 cofounder and chief executive officer Jennifer Maanavi. “It was just a perfect alignment, because that’s a very strong brand. It’s been in the city for a long time, and Physique 57 has been in the city for 20 years.”
Guerlain spa manager Jennifer Kirby also emphasized both brands’ connection to New York City.
“The theme behind the Waldorf Astoria is that we keep things that are New York City-based, and New York City-started,” she said. “Waldorf Astoria started its brand in New York City, [so] there was a lot of synergy there.”
While Physique 57 has hosted pop-ups in the past, Maanavi highlighted the significance of this opportunity, given the access to the Guerlain spa.
“This particular location, where the Waldorf is, there’s not that much fitness there, and if there is, I would not consider it to be an oasis,” she said, noting this partnership offers guests a holistic wellness experience.
