Loose Women’s Jane Moore updated viewers on how Janet Street-Porter was doing after her recent operation

Loose Women presenter Jane Moore paused the latest episode of the ITV programme to share a health update following her colleague Janet Street-Porter’s operation.

It was previously confirmed that Janet was set to undergo a second knee operation, reports the Manchester Evening News.

She explained earlier this week: “I’m going for a knee replacement, my right knee. I’ve had my left knee done, oh it must be eight or nine years ago. Last October, I had my left hip replaced, so the left-hand side of my body is virtually bionic. So, tomorrow it’s the right knee, and quite honestly, I can’t wait.”

As the Loose Women stars were set to chat to Our Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen on Wednesday (October 29), Jane interrupted proceedings to update viewers on Janet’s surgery.

She said: “Breaking news from Janet, we sent her off on Monday for her knee replacement surgery. Good news, it was a success. Don’t take my word for it, she’s decided to send you all a message.”

A video was shown of Janet in her hospital room, displaying the items she had with her and demonstrating the walking frame she’s using for support.

She said: “I’m back, look at me. Subsistence, half a banana, reading glasses, physio instructions. Already done for today. Here I am, up and mobile on my walking frame. Was doing it yesterday, hands free.”

After hearty applause from the live audience, Jane commented: “She’s like RoboCop.

“Sending you all our love Janet, look after yourself and we look forward to seeing you soon.”

Earlier in the week, when asked if she was in a lot of pain, Janet confessed: “I’m in a huge amount of pain, and then I ripped my neck just to put the icing on the cake, so can’t move it… I’m gonna be off for three weeks, so I’m not off forever.

“I’m gonna be doing all that physio and I want to say to anyone out there contemplating knee replacement, stick to the exercises. Get up, move around as much as you can… The last two weeks have been really chronic.”

Loose Women airs at 12.30pm on ITV on weekdays.
