A member of the public ran to help the woman
Police have issued an appeal for information and witnesses after a woman was assaulted in a Co Down car park.
The incident is reported to have happened at 11.55am on Thursday, October 23, in the car park located between St Mary’s Street and George’s Lane in Newry.
Police said they are aware a member of the public ran to help the woman, and have said they would like to speak to this man for further information.

In a statement, a PSNI spokesperson said: “Police are appealing for witnesses after a report of a female being assaulted in the car park located between St Marys Street and Georges Lane, Newry on Thursday 23rd October 2025 at approximately 1155 hours.
“Police are aware a member of the public ran to help this female and would like to speak to this male for further information to help assist the investigation.
“If anyone witnessed this please contact police on 101 quoting reference 607 of 23/10/25.”
