Primark launches ‘classic’ £18 dress £120 less than Next’s ‘staple’ lookalike

Shoppers looking for a ‘timeless’ winter dress might like Primark’s affordable option

Primark is offering a “timeless” winter dress that bears a striking resemblance to a pricier Next style. Known for its purse-friendly fashion and accessories, Primark could be onto another winner with shoppers.

The retailer is selling an £18 Rita Ora Tartan Kilt Mini Dress that’s arguably similar to Next’s £139 Boden Blue Annie Check Shift Dress. The styles are set to appeal to customers seeking a tartan mini dress, though Primark’s version comes at a fraction of the cost, delivering savings of more than £120.

Style enthusiasts should be aware that the dresses aren’t identical, reports the Mirror. Both sleeveless tartan dresses are designed in striking patterns, with round necklines and relaxed silhouettes.

However, the Next shift dress boasts a more relaxed A-line shape, while Primark has chosen a pleated skirt with buckle details that accentuate the waistline. There are also differences in construction.

Primark’s dress is over 90% polyester, but Next’s dress is only 27% polyester, with over 60% wool. Despite these differences, both styles look similar, and shoppers could easily wear the dresses with the same outfits.
