The 21-year-old died in hospital following a short illness in Perth
The funeral of a young Co Armagh man who died in Australia last month is set to take place early next week.
21-year-old Oran Marron from Crossmaglen died on Sunday, 21st September 2025, following a short illness at Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital, Perth, Australia.
It is understood he moved to Perth earlier this year.

Oran was a former player of Crossmaglen Rangers, and in a moving social media post,the club expressed their “utter devastation” at his untimely passing.
A Funeral notice posted online reads: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Oran Marron, 3 Rathview Park, Crossmaglen on Sunday 21st September 2025 following a short illness at Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital, Perth, Australia surrounded by his loving family.
“Oran, aged just 21 years old will be deeply loved and remembered by his adored family, by his devoted and heartbroken mother Jacqui, his grandparents PJ and Stacey Marron, his aunt Amanda (Morgan), his uncle Martin, his godparents Sean and Denise, his cousins Annie, Shane (Rebekah) Eimear, Rian, Grace, Abbie & Erin extended family, and many friends who will cherish his memory and carry his light in their hearts.
“May Oran’s Gentle Soul Rest In Eternal Peace”
The notice continued: “Oran was fondly remembered and loved by everyone that had the pleasure of crossing his path, both here in Ireland and Australia.
“An extraordinary young man that had a huge passion for life, a great sense of humour, enjoying the company of his family and friends. Oran was truly one in a million – forever young, forever remembered.
“Oran will repose at his home 3 Rathview Park, Crossmaglen from 7pm Saturday 4th October, Sunday 5th October (All Day) and Monday 6th October (All Day). House Private on Tuesday morning.
“Please respect the privacy of the family on Tuesday Morning.”
Oran’s funeral cortége will leave his home on Tuesday October 7th at 10.30am to arrive at St Patrick’s Church, Crossmaglen for Requiem Mass at 11.00am.
