Horse Sport Ireland have confirmed that they have been notified of an alleged human clean sport violation
Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) has confirmed that a showjumping athlete is currently under investigation for a potential anti-doping violation.
The National Governing Body for Equestrian Sport in Ireland has been alerted to ‘an alleged human clean sport violation’ involving a showjumping competitor.
HSI has stated that the International Testing Agency (ITA) is handling the matter, and both the athlete and HSI have been fully cooperative since the issue was first raised.
In a statement given to RTE, Horse Sport Ireland said: “Horse Sport Ireland (HSI), has been notified of an alleged human clean sport violation concerning an Irish showjumping athlete.
“This matter is being managed by the International Testing Agency (ITA) on behalf of the FEI, the International Federation for Equestrian Sports,” reports the Irish Mirror.
“Both the athlete and Horse Sport Ireland have been engaging fully since the issue was brought to their attention. As the case is ongoing, HSI will not be making any further comment on the specific details.
“HSI remains committed to upholding the values of clean sport and ensuring fair play across all disciplines.”
