Penny Lancaster opened up about her family life during Wednesday’s Loose Women as she spoke about her sons and stepchildren
Penny Lancaster was visibly moved during Wednesday’s episode of Loose Women as she discussed her family life.
Joining Jane Moore, Nadia Sawalha, Kelly Brook and Christine Lampard on the ITV chat show, Penny was there to promote her new book, Someone Like Me, which offers a candid look into her life for the first time.
In an emotional moment, Penny opened up about her stepchildren. Her husband, Sir Rod Stewart, has six children from previous relationships, while he and Penny have two sons together, Alistair and Aiden.
Jane commended Penny’s “blended” family, stating: “You’ve been the glue, I think. You’ve played it very slowly. I love all the photos of you all, you get together and it’s just a massive blended family. Everybody looks really happy.”

Overwhelmed, Penny replied: “I’m so blessed. My biggest gift, my boys, is having that lot as their siblings,” as she fought back tears.
Jane continued: “I have to say, a lot of that is down to you being receptive. Being a nice person for them to be around,”.
Penny then shared her approach to her blended family, saying: “It’s having that empathy isn’t it? Understanding what it’s like for others in that situation, not just yourself.”
Penny and Sir Rod began dating in 1999 and tied the knot in 2007. They welcomed their first son, Alistair, in 2005, followed by Aiden in 2011.
Sir Rod is also father to four daughters, Sarah, Kimberly, Renee and Ruby, and two sons, Liam and Sean, from his four previous marriages, reports the Express.
Penny has shared that she and Rod contemplated adoption in recent years, but it “ended up not happening” due to concerns over a potential age gap.
The mother of two also revealed to Saga magazine that having children was a deal-breaker for her. She admitted that if Rod had ruled out children when they first met, she would have walked away.
“Yes [I would have left him]. And that would have been very hard,” she confessed to the publication. “But we just went with the flow. Now Rod always says, ‘I wish I’d said yes [to babies] earlier, because then we could have had more children.'”.
Despite being married to the legendary rocker, Penny, a former model, has established her own career. She is now a familiar face on television, regularly appearing as a panellist on Loose Women, and serves as a police constable, having finished her training in 2021.
Loose Women broadcasts on weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV1.
