Defendant entered guilty pleas to viewing a female in a private act and without her consent for the purposes of his own sexual gratification
A Co Antrim man today (Tuesday) pleaded guilty to voyeurism and making indecent photographs of children.
Craig Cully, 34, appeared from custody at Belfast Crown Court to be arraigned on a total of nine charges he faced.
Cully, whose address on court papers was given as care of a solicitor’s office in Ballymena, entered guilty pleas to viewing a female in a private act and without her consent for the purposes of his own sexual gratification.
He also admitted taking and making indecent photographs of a child, possessing extreme pornography and possessing a prohibited image of a child. The defendant further pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice, namely that he concealed a mobile phone from the PSNI. The offences were committed on dates between March 22, 2022 and February 28, 2023.
Defence barrister Stephen Law told the court that Cully was previously sentenced at Antrim Crown Court for possessing indecent images on two separate bills of indictment and received a 28 month sentence.
“Those bills actually post date the offences that are here before this court. He is anticipating a release date of in December of this year,” Mr Law told Belfast Recorder Judge Patricia Smyth.
“He is known to probation and we have a copy of a report that was filed at Antrim Crown Court and this court would benefit from an addendum report.”
Judge Smyth said she wanted an agreed statement of facts from the prosecution and the defence surrounding the nature of the charges which must be lodged in court within seven days.
The Belfast Recorder said Cully would have to sign the sex offenders register even though he has already signed it from the time of the Antrim Crown Court cases. Cully, who was remanded back into custody, will be sentenced on Friday, October 17, 2025.
