Motorcyclist in ‘critical condition’ after Newtownards crash

A motorcyclist is in ‘critical condition’ after a crash in Co Down, police say.

The PSNI responded to a report of a collision involving a car and a motorcycle at Church Street in Newtownards shortly before 10.25pm on Tuesday, August 12.

A PSNI statement said: “Colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service also attended the scene.

“The male motorcyclist was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries, and is described as being in a critical condition at this time.

“Enquiries are ongoing, and police would appeal to anyone who has any mobile phone or dash cam footage, or any information which may assist, to get in touch via 101, quoting reference number 1914 of 12/08/25.”

The road has since reopened.
