Coronation Street fans have been left speechless after spotting Annabelle Apsion in a hit comedy-drama
Coronation Street fans were left floored as they spotted a former star in the “best British drama”.
Viewers of the ITV soap will know that Annabelle Apsion played Patricia Hillman, the ex-wife of serial killer Richard Hillman (Brian Capron).
Patricia unexpectedly turned up in Weatherfield in May 2002 as she wanted Richard to buy out her share in their joint business, Kellet Holdings.
They eventually reached an agreement to sell her share to him for £25,000, but when she didn’t get the money, Patricia soon confronted Richard.
Patricia threatened to expose her ex-husband as a “cheat” and a “liar”, before stumbling into a trench that was due to be underpinned the following day.

Instead of helping her, Richard grabbed a nearby spade and hit Patricia over the head, with the force of the blow killing her instantly.
The underpinning work went ahead as planned, but was soon halted when Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) found a woman’s bracelet lying in the trench.
Patricia’s body was eventually dug up in February 2003 when the police ordered an excavation of the site following Richard’s confession of his heinous crimes to his then-wife, Gail Platt (Helen Worth).
Since leaving the cobbles, Annabelle has appeared in a number of other TV shows, including Father Brown, Doc Martin, Holby City, Silent Witness and Spooks.
Though, she is probably best known for playing haberdasher Violet Buckle in the BBC’s long-running period drama Call the Midwife.
Now, several Corrie fans have been left speechless after spotting Annabelle in the UK version of Shameless.
The 64-year-old actor notably played Monica Gallagher intermittently between 2004 and 2006, before becoming a regular cast member for the show’s fourth season in 2007.
She left the show in 2008, before briefly returning to the role in 2011 and for the final season in 2013.
After spotting Annabelle on the hit show, one fan wrote on Reddit: “Omg just seen Annabelle Apsion while rewatching Shameless. Perhaps she went to Richard to get the money from Kellet Holdings in order to give it to the Gallaghers back in Chatsworth?”
“Omg love her!” another added, while a third said: “Patricia was an icon, she didn’t deserve to die.”
