Northern Ireland’s leading outlet destination, The Boulevard, is bringing three pop-up shops to the centre this summer, generating 20 new positions.

SKYL, TEN Foundations and School Bags and Stuff are set to join the scheme this August, building excitement ahead of the back-to-school period.

The Banbridge outlet has seen impressive trading figures throughout the summer months, with visitor numbers up 10% and turnover rising 15% compared to last year, defying wider retail challenges across the UK and Ireland.

The Boulevard has established itself as a successful testing ground for pop-up concepts, previously hosting brands including New Look, Molton Brown, Radley and Asics as trial venues or temporary outlet spaces for seasonal stock clearance.

Streetwear label SKYL, based in Co Tyrone, launched its six-week residency at The Boulevard on 21 July, giving shoppers access to its latest range of designer streetwear, casual clothing and accessories.

SKYL owner Marc Devlin commented: “Opening an exclusive pop-up store at The Boulevard is a dream come true for us, and we are delighted to be joining at such a great time for the scheme. We look forward to welcoming customers into our pop-up store and share love for high end streetwear.”

Charitable organisation TEN Foundations is running a pop-up until 31 August, stocking ethically produced school bags.

Established in Belfast by Ian Campbell in 2012, Ten Foundations works to support women facing extreme poverty in the Philippines by creating employment opportunities. The opportunity allows for skill development in designing and producing premium schoolbags and backpacks for sale across the UK and Ireland both in-store and online.

Moira-based educational and office supplies retailer, Schoolbags and Stuff, will become the third pop-up venture throughout August, providing Boulevard customers with schoolbags, rucksacks, lunchboxes and stationery cases ahead of the new academic year.

Chris Nelmes, Retail Director at The Boulevard, commented: “With the retail landscape constantly evolving, it’s essential for outlet models to be innovative and connect with the fresh generation of shoppers hitting the shops.

“Pop-up shops and limited-time collaborations are something that has been proven to work well at The Boulevard over the past couple of years, creating a dynamic and engaging shopping environment for visitors, driving footfall and increasing visitor dwell time.”

The centre boasts a packed programme of on-site activities year-round, including its ‘Back to School Weekend’, scheduled for 9th and 10th August.
